CSK Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad Reveals Key Factor in Loss to GT

In a high-scoring encounter, CSK faced a setback against GT, with skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad pointing out a critical factor behind their defeat. Despite a valiant effort, CSK’s performance fell short against GT’s formidable total.

Gill’s magnificent century, supported by Sudharsan’s stellar innings, propelled GT to a commanding total of 231 for 3, leaving CSK with a daunting chase.

Reflecting on the match, GT skipper Shubman Gill expressed that their batting could have aimed higher, potentially breaching the 260-run mark. However, despite their victory, Gill acknowledged the significance of net run rate and felt they fell short by 10-15 runs in that aspect.

“Honestly at one point 250 was for the taking and we fell short. In the last two-three overs they bowled well. I thought we were 10-15 short, not in terms of the match but in terms of net run rate,” Gill remarked during the post-match presentation.

Amidst CSK’s chase, Gill’s departure due to cramps raised concerns, although he reassured it was a minor issue.

“It’s just a cramp, nothing more.”

Gill also reflected on his explosive partnership with Sudharsan, highlighting their synergy and aggressive approach.

“Loved the freeness of it (partnership with Sudharsan), we didn’t have targets in mind, we maximized every over and opportunity in front of us.”

In contrast, CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad lamented the team’s fielding lapses, conceding unnecessary runs and making the road to playoffs tougher.

“Fielding let us down a little bit, we gave away 10-15 runs. Two batters were exceptional and it’s hard to control runs around the park.”

As the tournament progresses, CSK faces a daunting challenge against Rajasthan Royals, with Gaikwad acknowledging the tough road ahead.

With both teams aiming to secure crucial points, the upcoming matches promise to be intense battles, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the outcome.
