Akshay Kumar breaks his silence on flop streak after Sarfira’s poor performance at box office: ‘It hurts and…’

Akshay Kumar talks about how his flop streak in his career impacts him as Sarfira underperforms at the box office.

Akshay Kumar is one of the actors in Bollywood who has four releases every year. The actor’s last two releases have been a flop at the box office. The actor, who has yet to see box office success this year, talked about the flop streak in his career and how it has impacted him.

In a conversation with Forbes India, Akshay Kumar, whose recent film Safira underperformed at the box office, talked about the 16 flop streak in his career and how he deals with failures. He said, “Behind every film, there is a lot of blood, sweat, and passion that goes in. It is heartbreaking to see any film fail. But you have to learn to see the silver lining. Every failure teaches you the value of success and increases the hunger for it even further.”

He further added, “Luckily, I learned to deal with it earlier on in my career. Of course, it hurts and impacts you, but that won’t change the fate of the film. It’s not something that is in your control… what is in your control is to work harder, make amends, and give it your all to your next film. That’s how I channel my energy and try to move on to the next, focusing my energy where it matters the most.”

The actor further revealed that he has become ‘mindful’ in choosing the movies since the pandemic and said, “The pandemic has undoubtedly changed the dynamics of the film industry. With audiences being more selective about their cinema outings, it has become crucial to choose projects that offer something completely entertaining and unique. I’ve become more mindful of the content, ensuring that it resonates with the current times and provides an experience that justifies a trip to the theatre. It’s about finding stories that not only entertain but also connect deeply with the audience.”

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar is currently awaiting the release of his next film of the year, Khel Khel Mein which also stars Ammy Virk, Fardeen Khan, Taapsee Pannu, and Vaani Kapoor among others. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on August 15 and will clash with Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, and Pankaj Tripathi’s Stree 2.
